Seville Quarter, CAT Country 98.7, Budweiser and Pensacola Interstate Fair Main Stage are hosting four nights of preliminary competition to find the best Karaoke singer on the Gulf Coast. Auditions will be held on September, 17th, 24th, and October 1st, 8th starting at 8:00. Contestants must sign up between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and a lottery drawing will be held to fill the weekly 25 contestant slots. Each week three winners will be chosen from a celebrity panel of judges and will receive a weekly prize package. The twelve weekly winners will perform one song at the Pensacola Interstate Fair Main Stage on Sunday, October 19. The field will be narrowed to the top three vocalists and they will be asked to perform a second song. The overall winner will win the Grand Prize package including: a professional demo recorded at the Lucky K studio, a prize package from Budweiser, a 2009 Seville Quarter VIP Card and a Seville Quarter New Years Eve VIP Package and a $100 bar tab. The Cattyoke contests will be held in Lili Marlene's at Seville Quarter. Singers can use songs in the Seville Karaoke system or bring their own CD. Performers will be judged on vocal talent, personality, stage presence and audience response. You must be 21 or older to participate and to attend. There is no charge to enter the contest. The October 15th Business Happy Hour has been dedicated to FavorHouse as a way to expand public awareness and as a vehicle to raise money for this non-profit organization. Seville Quarter, motivated by the tragic loss of a friend and co-worker, Angela Faye Buchanan. Miss Buchanan, Seville's former receptionist and administrative assistant was murdered in June of 1999, a victim of domestic violence. The Seville Quarter Family has organized a year Silent Auction fundraiser, which has risen over $40,000 for FavorHouse and its many domestic violence victims. From 5 to 7p.m. the public will be invited to bid on Silent Auction items ranging from an original works of art, fine wine, accommodations in New Orleans and Pensacola Beach, a night on the town in downtown, sporting goods, belly dancing lessons, jewelry, a karaoke party and much, much more. All the auction items are being donated and 100% of the proceeds will go to FavorHouse. There is no charge to attend the Happy Hour and Auction; in fact patrons presenting a business card will get their first drink free. With your support "A Night of Stars" will help other young women escape potentially violent situations.
